Apples are the core of our business as we use them in just about every product we sell, but we look at apples as more than just a fruit. One bite into a crisp, NY apple and you’re instantly taken back to the early days of September and going back to school in the fall. The connection between apples and education is a long-standing tradition which is why we’re teaming up with U.S. Apple for their Apples for Education campaign. Apples for Education supports student causes and classroom projects to improve students’ learning environments and ensure success in the future. Causes range from new school gardens and innovative reading programs to updated technology, additional science equipment, and enhanced resources for teachers. To support your cause, follow these four simple steps:
-
Snack: Grab an apple, we happen to partial to the apples coming off Red Jacket Orchards this harvest season
-
Snap: Take a picture of your snack.
-
Tag: Find a school cause at Apples4Ed.com. Tag your photo with the project’s unique hashtag and #Apples4Ed.
-
Share: Vote for your fave school cause by uploading your photo to your (public) Instagram or Twitter account.
In December, USApple will announce the amount of funding each of the 17 school causes will be awarded. The top three school causes with the most votes will receive the highest amount of funding.
Vote Often and Enter for a Chance to Win! You can vote as much as you want - each pic you upload counts as a vote. (See voting rules.) When you vote, you automatically enter for a chance to win weekly prizes from U.S. apple members and Marzetti, including $100 gift cards - PLUS have $100 in additional funds donated directly to your selected project.
